Duties & Responsibilities
- Work with various business partners to facilitate the completion of all assigned activities of business partners in their business units.
- Assisting the Principal Risk Owners and Principal Risk Coordinators with the identification of key risks and mitigating controls in day-to-day operations and projects, as well as design and execution of tests to identify possible control weaknesses, preparing adequate documentation
- Assist business partners to provide action plans to address required control gaps in the mitigating measures identified.
- Monitor the completion of all assigned activities of business partners to address agreed upon changes have been identified.
- Create Key Risk Indicators and support business partners to develop action plans
- Perform duties & responsibilities specific to department functions & activities
- Identify risks and analyze operational gaps & activities
- Conduct self-assessments / controls to identify possible control weaknesses or deficiencies found during the working paper design and execution of tests to identify possible control weaknesses
- Review new product proposals to ensure same are supported by documents and in compliance with laws and regulations. Provide feedback to committees, if required.
- Assist 3rd parties with the overall assessment process and ongoing monitoring of outstanding items requiring follow-up and resolution.
- Conduct regulatory process, research, advise relevant changes to minimize those issues
- Monitor compliance with BSA/AML policies and procedures Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- BA degree business or related field preferred, equivalent work experience considered.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in bank and/or broker dealer experience with specialization in Operational risk, Audit or Risk Assessment roles.
- Proven ability to develop, document and maintain operational risk documenting detailed process flows, and the development of policy, procedure and reports.
- Experience performing assessment, reviews, audits and/or testing across various business areas/processes.
- Experience working with Excel, Access and/or other similar tools, developing and maintaining various analyses and reporting tools.
- Knowledge in tools used for data science and other statistical analyses such as SAS, Tableau, ACL, R or Phyton. (Desirable)
- Knowledge of U.S. banking and broker dealer regulations, Sarbanes-Oxley and COSO methodology.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Access, Power Point and Word.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is desirable.
